New Look - Sort of

Imagine that. I've spent all this time trying to get something done on the coding aspect of my blog. Now, there is some changes to make my life easier. We'll see. So far, I like the changes.

In honor of that I decided I'd change the color at least. I thought about changing the whole thing. Not after this day and last evening though. Methinks the gr....ns are back and I'm being very quiet just in case they lost. However, if they advanced and are just resting, then I'd like them to get all the rest they need.

I need to check on an adventure I signed up for. Been so busy the last 20 hours. And I'll be busy for a little in the morning. We are having an Elder's Dinner with some visitors tomorrow. I had to help fix the gifts for an hour or so today. The Elders will be here mid-morning til mid-afternoon.

Off to get my beeeauuuuty, rats. Now, all I see is coding stuff. Giigawabamin. (See you tomorrow)

Guest Blogger - My father

Well, I received the guest blog entry. The guest blogger is my father, of course. He is the man who wrote a column called "Facts by Ax" in the reservation newspaper in the nineties. Here is his entry:

computers make it less complicated to do more things, but most of the things they make less complicated to do don't need to be done.

Methinks he's having a bit of fun with me. Fathers. He does cryptograms. He calls me on the phone to give me words of wisdom. The foregoing is an example of the words he expects me to live by. And now, that his debut is over, maybe we'll get more of the same. Or not.

One never really knows just what he is likely to write. And, of course, now you have an idea of where I get some of my humor from. Ahhh well. I shouldn't have told him to keep it short. It must be my own fault. Methinks a submissions guideline is in order specifically tailored to my father. I must get to working on that right away.

Posting Blogs - News or Views

July heat has begun.  Wondering where June went.  "They" say time flies when you're having fun.  Was June fun?  In many ways, yes.  Learned several new things.  Caught up on reading, mostly blogs, stuff on the web.  


One thing catching my attention is the changing views on blogs.  Several headlines mentioned that blog writers are increasingly being treated as reporters; apparently, expressing your opinion about politics, styles, books, etc is news. 


An opinion according to dictionaries(dot)com - 1. a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty. 2. a personal view, attitude, or appraisal. 3. the formal expression of a professional judgment: to ask for a second medical opinion. 
A journalist is 1. a person who practices the occupation or profession of journalism. 2. a person who keeps a journal, diary or other record of daily events. 


I thought I'd make it clear the focus of my blog posting is to express my opinions about things that interest me.  I realize others may or may not agree with me about everything.  It's your opinion, your option.  I may or may not agree with your opinion.  That's life.  


I am interested in writing stories that are fiction.  I post about events that affect me and how they affect me.  Postings include my memories of events in the past.  I do my best to check the facts on which I base my conclusions.  I change my mind, my conclusions, upon occasion whenever I feel the necessity for it.  Anything more, I leave to the experts in journalism.  I do hope they remember that they can't possibly report all the facts known about something and they, too, pick and choose which facts to present in their columns.

Changing habits

I spent several more hours checking out the new site.  Found out the theme for the month is "fan" and thought "there goes that.  No mention of the word fan in my post."  Read further and found it was only an objective.  Well, thank goodness.  One thing at a time.  My objective is to post daily.  

I see the logic behind the 30 day Blog posting.  I read somewhere that it takes about 21 days to form a habit.  The extra seven days will be reinforcement.  Yeah.  Then I can add another objective.  Hopefully, I will be caught up and can get to the monthly theme.  Most likely not though.  I have several other habits that I want to follow through on, change or drop.  

It's a mite harder to drop a few habits.  That's when I discover how much I really use those particular habits.  When I finally decide to drop one, I need to find one to replace it.  Then a quandary takes hold of my attention, slowly throwing me into a panic.  What am I going to do about a new habit.  I spend several hours, days, sometimes months checking out new habits with which to replace the one I want to drop.  That's when I discover that I really didn't want to drop that habit.  I hope Blog posting will not be one of the "drop" variety.  I want it to be the change variety.  It's certainly not the follow through variety; I do have annual posts for that.  

I checked out some of the other features such as groups.  Most have't been active for at least a year.  No "change" support there.  I progressed to reading the posting for the past few days.  Found a couple that I just had to comment on.  Then couldn't find the button for following the blog.  Drats.  This morning when I logged in, I saw that my comments are tracked.  Yea.  So, in between shifts today, I will be checking on those interspersed with trying to find that button again.  Methinks I'll have to spend some time on my own blog to hit those buttons.  

There was mention of Facebook's 30 day challenge on one.  I found the Facebook page, checked out the comments on the feed.  Logged in to that account this morning, found out I forgot to hit the like button.  Another search today with the sole objective of hitting the like button.  

One thing that I caught myself doing while I was logged in to Facebook.  Automatically going to my cafe and farm.  Now, there's a habit I need to think about.
